Populations Served: Children Ages 6 to 12, Teens, Young Adults, Couples, and Parents.

Therapeutic Approach: Jeff is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has been providing individual therapy and group therapy to children, adolescents, young adults and parents throughout the Boulder and Denver Metro area’s since 1995. Jeff’s counseling style and therapeutic approach are unique and innovative, and he specializes in children and adolescent therapy, high risk populations, group facilitation, and parent coaching. By using a less traditional therapeutic approach, Jeff is able to reach clients and families that have not found conventional therapy productive or have found it to have not met their individual needs. Jeff uses a strength-based, solution-focused, cognitive-behavioral therapy approach which is designed to treat the issues that arise in our individual lives, personal relationships and families. Some therapeutic goals could include teaching new skills to enhance self-esteem and improve performance, learn new skills to improve communication or increase problem-solving behavior, and challenge the thought process and provide insight to those involved in individual or group therapy.

Mobility: Children, teens, young adults, couples, and families can be treated in a variety of settings which include Jeff’s North Boulder office, the community where you live, the local outdoors, or in your home. Jeff also incorporates adventure-based wilderness therapy techniques into his counseling practice whenever appropriate which could include anything from talking while taking a walk around a local lake or a hiking trail, to rock climbing, to having tea or coffee or a bite to eat.

Services Provided: Individual cognitive-behavioral therapy can be used to address impulsive and oppositional behavior, anxiety, depression, and drug and alcohol issues. Therapeutic programs can also be developed to address low self esteem or to help children, teens, and parents struggling with transition, loss or change. Jeff can also mentor, support and guide clients who are feeling isolated, depressed or without clear direction. Other services include individual and group anger management therapy using a model Jeff has been implementing both individually and in group form for over ten years. Counseling and assistance are also available to those struggling with the judicial system or who are court-ordered into treatment. Jeff also works with children and young adults with motivation issues, or individuals not living up to their potential by either not performing or under-performing in school or sports.
