Ongoing Groups facilitated by Dr. Elizabeth Olson:

Dialectical Behavior Therapy Skills Group:

These groups offer a skill based approach to decreasing impulsive behaviors, increasing a regulated, calm way of responding to stress, and developing a wide range of coping strategies for the purpose of being more mindful, thoughtful, and constructive in one's choices.

General Psychotherapy Group:

This is a weekly, co-ed process group that meets for the purpose of addressing unconscious patterns and behaviors in interpersonal interactions. The here and now experiences that people share in this group allow for meaningful, internal character changes and new ways of relating with others in their lives.

Socialization Groups:

Do your children need support with making friends, building self-confidence, and coping with frustration better? Socialization groups encourage children and young adults to better understand how to get their needs met socially, at school and at home, to put their thoughts and feelings into words more, and to feel more comfortable with themselves. These groups are for children and young adults, pre-K through high school. We offer skill development for children with ADHD, oppositional behavior difficulties, stress management, anxiety, depression, and social and regulatory difficulties.

Parent Support Group:

This is a group that offers support for parents who are feeling isolated, overwhelmed, and challenged by how to support their children. This group is designed to offer specific skills to parents on ways to more effectively connect with their children while still guiding them on making positive behavior choices and following directions. Parents will gain valuable understandings in the best ways to speak with your kids, discipline and gain their cooperation, and increase your own comfort as a parent dealing with stress. In addition to the educational support, parents often feel relieved and bolstered by the support that they give each other in problem solving and understanding each other's experiences.
